How Binary Text Works
Computers store every character as a number; binary is that number written in base 2 — just ones and zeros. Eight bits per character, so 'Hi' becomes 01001000 01101001. It's the only cipher on this site a computer natively understands, which makes it perfect for puzzle chains: decode the binary, get a morse message, decode that, end up with Wingdings symbols.
Try This
Paste 01010111 01001001 01001110 01000111 into the box, decode it, then
feed the result to the Wingdings translator — congratulations, you just
spoke fluent Gaster.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert text to binary?
Type into the box — each character becomes its 8-bit binary code, space-separated. Paste binary back and it decodes to text automatically.
What does binary text look like?
Rows of ones and zeros: 'HELLO' becomes 01001000 01000101 01001100 01001100 01001111.
Why pair binary with Wingdings?
Both are letter-for-letter ciphers — one speaks in symbols, the other speaks in machine. Puzzle makers and ARG designers chain them: binary → morse → Wingdings.
